PCN Asks Matty: Answers for 2/1/2010

Once again our friends at Mattel have taken the time to answer our questions! Click through to check out the answers!
1) Since we've seen Cars repackaged with shifting eyes and color changing bodies, does this mean we've seen the end of new characters?
With Cars 2 on the horizon, we’re just getting warmed up!
2) With all the issues you've had with the MOTUC 2009 subscription, what can you say to people who for the first time purchased a 2010 subscription, and are fearful about somehow being forgotten in the coming sellouts?
We think all of these issues are in the past. Subscription figures should be shipping first going forward. We’ve worked very hard with our vendor to work these issues out. Nothing is more important to us then improving customer service.
3) Adora sold out fast! How does Mattel view this in regards to seeing more PoP figures in MOTUC down the road?
Clearly it shows there is a large fan base for the POP line! We also had a lot more subscribers in 2010 versus 2009, and that took up the bulk of the inventory on the monthly figure. We’re still reviewing how many fans above and beyond the subscriber base are purchasing monthly figures.
4) Optikk looks great! But, there seems to be quite a bit of negativity surrounding the first NA figure hitting the MOTUC line. Is Mattel taking note of this, and if so, do we have to worry about this affecting future NA characters getting a release?
Fans have always been on the fence about new things. We’ll wait to see how he performs in May before making any adjustments to future NA plans.
5) Will we see the new Retro Styled figures only with the DC property, or is there a chance of other Mattel brands falling under that banner? It's be great to see a Mego-style/Retro-style Skeletor!
Yes, we do have plans to expand this line to other brands!
So, got a question for Mattel? Then head on over to the Pop Culture Network Forums and ask away! Special thanks to our friends at Mattel for once again taking the time to answer our questions!
