LOS ANGELES, CA (November 16, 2018)\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 BOOM! Studios today unveiled a first look at\u00a0FIREFLY #2<\/strong>, arriving in comic book shops on December 19th. New York Times best-selling writer Greg Pak (Star Wars, Mech Cadet Yu<\/em>) and artist Dan McDaid (Judge Dredd<\/em>), along with series creator & story consultant Joss Whedon (the visionary writer\/director behind\u00a0Buffy The Vampire Slayer<\/em>, Marvel\u2019s\u00a0The Avengers,<\/em>\u00a0and more) continue the iconic worldwide pop culture phenomenon\u2019s return to comic books in partnership with 20th Century Fox Consumer Products.<\/p>\n

The untold story of the Unification War continues as the crew of the Serenity is stranded on an outer moon, with a price on their heads from the Unificators, mercenaries deputized to hunt down war criminals \u2026and that\u2019s the good news. As the darkest secret of Mal and Zoe\u2019s past is revealed, the crew must choose sides as an important new character makes their historic first appearance. War can make villains of even the best men, and Mal\u2019s quest for redemption will force him to make a choice: fix the past or fight for the future.<\/p>\n

Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds, a defeated soldier who opposed the unification of the planets by the totalitarian governed Alliance, will undertake any job \u2014 legal or not \u2014 to stay afloat and keep his crew fed. Thrust together by necessity but staying together out of loyalty, these disparate men and women are seeking adventure and the good life, but face constant challenges on the new frontier, such as avoiding capture by the Alliance, and evading the dangers you find on the fringes of the universe.<\/p>\n
