BOOM! Studios, in partnership with 20th Century Fox Consumer Products, announced today that\u00a0ANGEL #5<\/strong>\u00a0will be the official prelude to Hellmouth, the historic Buffy & Angel comic book event.<\/p>\n

The road to\u00a0Hellmouth\u00a0<\/em>begins in September 2019 from acclaimed writer Bryan Edward Hill (American Carnage, Batman & The Outsiders<\/em>) and artist Gleb Melnikov, as\u00a0ANGEL #5<\/strong>\u00a0reveals that Angel now knows his true mission\u2014to make sure the Hellmouth stays sealed! He’ll stop anyone who gets in his way, be it friend or foe, vampire…or Slayer.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverything in\u00a0Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Angel\u00a0<\/em>has been leading to\u00a0Hellmouth<\/em>, the first major comic book event featuring Buffy and Angel. But\u00a0ANGEL #5<\/strong>\u00a0is where the pieces all start coming together,\u201d said Jeanine Schaefer, Executive Editor, BOOM! Studios. \u201cWe\u2019re excited for fans to see just how far we\u2019ll go in this reimagining of two huge pop culture icons\u2014because when Buffy and Angel finally meet, it\u2019s not going to go the way you expect!\u201d<\/p>\n

ANGEL #5\u00a0<\/strong>features a main cover by artist Dan Panosian (Slots, Batman: Arkham Knight<\/em>), along with variant cover by horror illustrator Scott Buoncristiano (Harry Potter: Magical Film Projections, Dead Rabbit<\/em>) and artist Troy Nixey (Trout, Neil Gaiman\u2019s Only The End Of The World Again<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Created by visionary writer and director Joss Whedon (Marvel\u2019s The Avengers<\/em>\u00a0film franchise),\u00a0Angel\u00a0<\/em>premiered on the WB Network on October 5th, 1999 and was a spin-off from\u00a0Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em>. The series ran for five seasons from 1999\u20132004, starring David Boreanaz as Angel, the tortured vampire destined to walk the earth with a soul who moved to LA to set up shop as a supernatural private investigator. Despite Angel\u2019s best efforts to deal with the sins of his past all by himself, Angel Investigations soon became home to other lost souls searching for redemption and willing to fight by his side.<\/p>\n

ANGEL\u00a0<\/strong>is the newest release from BOOM!
