BOOM! Studios revealed a first look at\u00a0ANGEL #1<\/strong>, the premiere issue of a brand new eight-issue comic book series available beginning January 2022. Producer and director of AMC\u2019s\u00a0Halt and Catch Fire<\/em>\u00a0and Eisner Award-nominated writer Christopher Cantwell (Iron Man, The United States of Captain America<\/em>), artist Daniel Bayliss (WWE The New Day: The Power of Positivity, Labyrinth: Coronation<\/em>), colorist Patricio Delpeche (Origins<\/em>), and letterer Becca Carey (Wonder Woman<\/em>) shine the spotlight on everyone\u2019s favorite vampire with a soul in the role of a lifetime . . . Detective Angel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Welcome to Angel for Hire, starring Angel and his co-star\u2014Cordelia! But wait, Angel isn\u2019t just a celebrity? Nope, he leads a double life . . . as a real monster hunter for Angel Investigations!<\/p>\n

Sometimes, though, this double life can get his friends into trouble, and as Wesley recovers from a horrific curse, Angel stumbles into a series of supernatural events which lead to him getting sucked into an unexpected and mysterious world. He soon faces a terrifying enemy, who sees him as a threat . . .<\/p>\n

ANGEL #1<\/strong>\u00a0features main cover art by acclaimed illustrator Nimit Malavia (Buffy the Vampire Slayer<\/em>) and variant cover art by fan favorite artists InHyuk Lee (Venom<\/em>) and Jahnoy Lindsay (Hawkeye: Kate Bishop<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Angel\u00a0<\/em>premiered on the WB Network on October 5th, 1999 and was a spin-off from the hit series\u00a0Buffy the Vampire Slayer.<\/em>\u00a0The series ran for five seasons from 1999-2004, and revolved around Angel, the tortured vampire destined to walk the earth with a soul who moved to LA to set up shop as a supernatural private investigator. Despite Angel\u2019s best efforts to deal with the sins of his past all by himself, Angel Investigations soon became home to other lost souls searching for redemption and willing to fight by his side.<\/p>\n
