\u00a0Dwayne \u201cThe Rock\u201d Johnson<\/strong>\u00a0will star in the opening film for NBC Olympics\u2019 enhanced primetime presentation of the Opening Ceremony for the XXIV Olympic Winter Games from Beijing, China\u00a0this Friday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock<\/u>.<\/p>\n

As viewers get set to watch Team USA walk in the Parade of Nations, Johnson narrates the opening film \u2014 entitled \u201cI Dare You\u201d \u2014 which tells the story of how young athletes dare to pursue the fastest, highest, most high-stakes events on snow and ice.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur athletes representing Team USA at this year\u2019s Winter Olympics are some of the most talented and determined men and women in the world,\u201d said Johnson. \u201cThey have dedicated their lives to their sport, pushing through injuries and personal setbacks, training through the toughest of conditions, to rise up and join the elite who have the opportunity to represent their country in the most iconic competition in the world. It\u2019s my honor to once again be asked to participate in the presentation of the Opening Ceremony. And on behalf of our country, I will proudly introduce our U.S. Olympians to the world as they take that first step of defining their legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson introduced Team USA during NBC\u2019s coverage Tokyo Olympics last summer and previewed the athletes to watch in the Tokyo Paralympic Games.<\/p>\n

In a Winter Games first, NBCUniversal will provide unprecedented\u00a0full-day coverage of the Opening Ceremony on Friday. Feb. 4<\/u>. Coverage begins at 6:30 a.m. ET on NBC and Peacock with NBCU\u2019s first-ever live morning presentation of a Winter Games Opening Ceremony.<\/p>\n

The day will culminate with an\u00a0enhanced primetime presentation of the Opening Ceremony, from 8-11 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock<\/u>, with a special focus on the athletes of Team USA in addition to the Parade of Nations that make the Opening Ceremony one of the most-watched events worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
