Titan Comics are thrilled to announce that writers\u00a0Ollie Masters<\/strong>\u00a0(The Kitchen<\/em>) and\u00a0Alex Paknadel<\/strong>\u00a0(Assassin\u2019s Creed: Uprising<\/em>) are teaming up with artists\u00a0Budi Setiawan<\/strong>\u00a0(Rex Royd, Savage Dragon<\/em>) and\u00a0Brad Simpson<\/strong>\u00a0(Wolfenstein<\/em>) to helm a brand-new story from the world of martial arts movie masterpiece,\u00a0The Raid<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Punching and kicking its way into stores in August 2018 with Issue #1, Titan Comics\u2019 new four-part series brings the bone-crunching cinematic martial arts action to the bloodied page. Readers are invited to go beyond the movie to discover the shocking story behind fan-favorite characters, Hammer Girl and Baseball Bat Man.<\/p>\n

Premiering in 2011, Indonesian martial-arts movie\u00a0The Raid\u00a0<\/em>(also known as\u00a0The Raid: Redemption<\/em>) sent pulses racing at the Toronto International Film Festival and secured unanimous critical praise, rocketing to cult film status across the globe.<\/p>\n

The movie captured audiences with its boundary-pushing, inventive choreography and piston-pumping narrative when a lone, isolated SWAT team are trapped by a ruthless mobster and his army of killers and thugs inside a tenement block, and they have to fight their way to the top.<\/p>\n

Directed by Gareth Evans and produced by\u00a0PT. Merantau Films<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0XYZ Films<\/em>, the high-octane franchise has garnered great success since its release. The first film had 10 nominations at the 2012 Maya Awards, and was followed, in 2014 by\u00a0The Raid 2<\/em>, which featured the character of Rama returning to battle against corruption in his own police force.<\/p>\n
