Rising artist Carmen Carnero joins Tom Taylor on X-Men Red, starting this July!<\/em><\/p>\n

New York, NY\u2014June 1, 2018<\/span>\u2014Marvel is excited to announce that this July, artist Carmen Carnero will join X-MEN RED as the series\u2019 regular artist alongside writer Tom Taylor. Carnero\u2019s work for Marvel includes\u00a0Superior Foes of Spider-Man, Cyclops<\/em>, and\u00a0The Punisher<\/em>\u00a0(where she holds the distinction of being the first female artist to ever draw the character\u2019s ongoing series.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always special to return to where I was given my first opportunity in American comic books, especially a book so successful as\u00a0X-Men Red<\/em>\u00a0is,\u201d Carnero said. \u201cIt\u2019s a lot of responsibility, but a welcome one! I\u2019ve been really lucky, because the team\u2019s lineup, all of it, it\u2019s SO amazing and a dream for me. Jean Grey leading a super group formed by the best female and male mutant heroes? I can\u2019t ask for more, especially having my favorite female characters as part of the group. And I already adore Gabby. It\u2019s impossible not to!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCarmen is bringing so much to\u00a0X-Men: Red<\/em>\u00a0and we feel very lucky to have her join our team. While she can dazzle with big moments under the sea or Sentinels dropping out of the sky, it’s the way her characters all act so uniquely that’s blowing us away,\u201d added Taylor. \u201cCarmen has a rare ability to capture both complex expressions and subtle body language.
