LOS ANGELES, CA (November 6, 2018)\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 BOOM! Studios today announced\u00a0BAGS (OR A STORY THEREOF)<\/strong>, a new middle grade original graphic novel by Patrick McHale, creator of the Emmy Award-winning Cartoon Network series\u00a0Over The Garden Wall<\/em>\u2122 and Gavin Fullerton (Storyboard Artist,\u00a0Disney\u2019s\u00a0Space Chickens in Space<\/em>) with colorist\u00a0Whitney Cogar (Steven Universe<\/em>)<\/p>\n

Arriving in stores July 2019,\u00a0BAGS (OR A STORY THEREOF)<\/strong>\u00a0is the tale of John Motts. He is a man who had a dog, but now that dog is gone. John searches his house, his street, and his town, but the dog is nowhere to be found. John soon realizes that he must travel further, past the road and into the trees if he\u2019s ever to find out the truth of what happened to his dog.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore making\u00a0Over the Garden Wall<\/em>, I tried to write a novel in one week and failed; instead I ended up with an odd, rather experimental story about a man looking for his missing dog. It’s very exciting that my weird little book is being adapted into a full on graphic novel, and even more exciting that Gavin Fullerton is the one adapting it!\u201dsaid Patrick McHale. \u201cI\u2019m extremely happy with what he’s done with this story, and I hope other people like it too. (Note: It has the Devil in it, and a walrus who puts things in bags, so\u2026 you might like it.)\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a huge fan of Pat\u2019s work, so I was incredibly excited when I was asked to adapt his short story BAGS into a full-length graphic novel.\u201dsaid Gavin Fullerton. \u201cBAGS<\/strong>\u00a0is sad, fun, spooky and a wee bit strange. It\u2019s the kind of story you come away from feeling a little less alone. I hope the comic can make people feel the same way.\u201d<\/p>\n
